Living the Paradox of our Lives

This Brené Brown quote has quietened the “itty bitty shitty committee” that goes on in my head. It seems I’m often living this paradox and with this inspired perspective from Brené my ever present wild heart feels honest and real instead of the stories my “committee” sometimes tells me.

I lead, care and love deeply and courageously. That results in me being pure joy, wisdom and compassion most of the time and at other times needing to be pure honesty and tough love.

During all that is going on in our world, I am aware of the toll our courage and wisdom can have, even when we are right – at times the most right thing might be to choose being positive and kind over being right. At times the greatest and most courageous thing we can do is to have the courage to be quiet – to observe and allow.

Being patient and supporting ourselves and each other in building our resilience and allowing each of us to live in this state of paradox and be our uniquely human selves might be the most courageous thing we do this week.

Happy Friday. Enjoy your weekend with friends and family living the paradox of a wild heart with kindness.

“The mark of a wild heart is living out the paradox of love in our lives. It’s the ability to be tough and tender, excited and scared, brave and afraid — all in the same moment. It’s showing up in our vulnerability and our courage, being both fierce and kind.” – Brene Brown
